Richard A Everett 204 Incline Drive Liberty, SC 29657 To whom it may concern: I am enclosing this cover letter to point out various assets that I bring to the table that may not be readily apparent from my resume and project list. Over the past two years I have been attending Clemson University taking Studio Design courses in pursuit of fulfillment of NAAB Education requirements leading to NCARB Certification, which would allow me to be licensed in most states, in addition to New York, where I have been licensed as an Architect since 1990. In pursuit of this goal, I have been doing independent research into Revit Architecture, and using it to develop Schematic and Design Development stage Projects . I could send you PDFs and/or DWFxs of these if you would be interested. I have just completed my studies at Clemson, along with NAAB design studio requirements for NCARB certification. I will still have 16 credit hours to complete in coursework such as Architectural History, Human Behavior and the environment to fully complete all outstanding NAAB educational requirements. During my previous employment at Reinhardt Architecture in Charlotte, NC, in addition to my duties as Project Architect, I also was CAD Manager using AutoCAD 2008, and developed a complete set of standards for use by the firm. We were considering making the transition to Revit in 2008, but unfortunately I had to be laid off due to a lack of work for the firm. After looking for work for 4 months unsuccessfully, I decided to go back to school to finish my NAAB requirements, while expanding my knowledge of Revit. At this point I have a basic knowledge of Revit, and feel that the next step would to be to apply that knowledge in a Firm setting. Hence this letter to you. My goal is to get to the point I was with AutoCAD, capable of managing the application of Revit, and developing standards for a Firm. You could contact Professor Robert Hogan, Director of Undergraduate Studies at Clemson (hrobert[at]clemson.edu, 864 656-3914), who has been directing my studies as to my qualifications and progress with Revit. I believe that Revit and BIM in general represent the future of Architecture from a practice standpoint, and my strong interest in further developing my expertise with the software, coupled with my extensive experience in the field of Architecture, would seem to be a good fit that could benefit all involved. This is not to say that I have precluded the many other facets involved in the successful delivery of projects, rather that it has been added to the other repertoire of skills that I offer to a firm. Please find attached my resume and Project List for your perusal. I can provide examples of my work upon request. My salary requirements would be in the $70-100K range depending on cost of living in your area. I look forward to your response.
